5 Top Tips To Starting A Small Business

So you think you want to start a small business, it's not as easy as everyone says. In fact starting a small business could be one of the most difficult undertakings that you've ever encountered. But is it worth it? Hell yeah. There's going to be lots of ups and there's going to be lots of downs and the thing you need to remember is that you need to stick with it.

Tip #1
Decide on what you are going to do for your business. Nowadays with the world that we live in many people are looking at having a side hustle. The reason why is because the 9-5 jobs just aren't cutting it anymore. So if you're deciding to take on a side hustle do yourself a favor, make sure you take on something that you have a passion in and my dear friends that is tip #1 choose a business that you are passionate about. If you choose something that you have no passion in when the times get tough you're going to get going and by that I mean you're gonna let it draw the motivation will not be there and you will be tired and you will not continue. If you have them passion behind you, you will continue to push your business because you believe in your product and that what you are providing has value and that other people will benefit from that value.

Tip #2
You've now figured out what your passion is at this point, now you need to hone in on exactly what your niche is going to be. There's many people out there in the world that think once they have a business idea that they need to push it and sell it to everybody else in the world, again my friend I tell you this is not the way that things are going to work . Not everyone is going to need that special pill you're selling or that fitness coaching that you've got, not everyone is going to want a lifestyle coach to get them through the day. The one thing that everyone wants is something that is tailored just for them. So that's why you need to find your niche. Find your Tribe!!! This means tailoring specific topics just for a target market. So some examples of this might be at home fitness routines for moms, you see in this particular example you are speaking directly to those moms that probably don't have the time to get out to the gym or who don't want to go to the gym but do want to be fit and there specifically looking for these wonderful routines that they can do at home on their own time in their downtime, and you if you can provide that to them then you have provide value to them. Value is the key. And that leads us into tip #3
Tip #3
Provide value to your clients and to your audience. Like we said about the niche not everybody is going to want everything, but when your clients want something from you, they don't want just a bunch of drivel they want value. So ensure that that's what you're giving them. In today's day and age, we don't have time to always be researching everything out there to find the information we need and let me tell you there is a ton of info on the net but that doesn't mean that it's the right information though. If you are telling your clients or your audience that you are going to give them tips and tools to help them succeed in a bakery business, then you are giving them tips and tools to succeed in a bakery business you are not going to be giving them products that would sell a fitness routine. People also do not want to read long winded pieces of article that do not have any entertainment to them whatsoever. So, when you do post entertainment to go with it ensure that it follows along the lines of providing them value and that it's relevant.
Tip #4
The one thing that a lot of people do when starting a business is jump both feet in and forget all the things about planning or looking at their target markets, or even the black cloud thing of looking at their finances. Well let me tell you a little bit of planning goes a long way. Personally, I don't particularly like looking at the finances or having to look at three months in the future because I love winging things. I'm that person that at the drop of a hat I want to go on a trip to see my brother 8 hours away. I'm that person that decides at three in the morning we should go sliding. So planning is not exactly my Forte, that is why I've looked into it that much. I needed a way to streamline it and make it easy. This has allowed me to have a lot more time freed up in my life. This is something you're going to want to look at especially as you start a small business. Some things to kind of consider create a business plan, get to know your target market, do a SWOT analysis, plan out your financials, look at the big picture and create goals that makes sense, create a marketing plan (Logo, colors, typography, graphics, website design, print designs and everything else that goes with branding).

Tip #5
Tip #5 is very simple don't give up. There will be times when even the best laid plans don't work, that does not mean that you need to give up. What that means is you need to look at your plan and you need to maybe just revamp it a little bit sometimes you may just not have had the right skills, or the right peace is in place at that time, but it doesn't mean that you can't revamp. Look at what you're doing , look at what other people are doing especially in your niche. It is not cheating to go onto their Instagram’s and to their Facebook pages an everywhere else and see what the people you feel are your mentors in your niche are doing. They've caught your attention and they've probably caught a lot more people’s attention out there and they know what to do because they have the experience backing them. So, learn from their experience. I genuinely believe that if you're in your niche and you are passionate about what you're doing putting that money into education from your mentor or different courses that are going to help push you along in your business is definitely something you should be looking at. There's a lot of coaches out there now that specialize in certain areas and if you find that you're floundering they will help you swim. Like dear Mr Thomas Edison said Once Upon a time
“I have not failed. I have just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”
The journey is half the fun, if something's not working you get to be creative and come up with a way to make it work. Life is too short to get caught up in the negative, take that negative and tell it to F#@K OFF and reframe into a positive. A positive outlook on things is going to get you so much further in life than if everything you do you want to complain and pull your hair out about. Complaining and pulling your hair out is not going to do you any good. All it's going to do is make you bald and have a lot of wrinkles. So, it's time to pull up those big girl panties and get moving forward.
